The Southern California Evaluation Association (SCEA) is an organization
designed to assist those working in Evaluation or related fields.  Generally, SCEA
provides a forum for evaluation practitioners to convene, network, and discuss
issues related to the field of evaluation.  More specifically, SCEA aims to:

  • Convene themed meetings, with presentations by members and visitors;

  • Encourage networking opportunities;

  • Assist in fostering mentorship relationships;

  • Promote professional advancement;

  • Create an open forum for discussion;

  • Provide non-binding IRB reviews for independent, non-university based
    evaluators;

  • Continue to formulate standards and ethical recommendations regarding
    practice.


Professional Development Workshop Series
August 20-23, 2010

Claremont Graduate University is proud to once again offer an
outstanding line-up of workshops for professionals, academics, and
students to hone their research and evaluation skills.  Presenters from
top-tier universities and organizations across North America gather in
Claremont to teach participants from academia, research institutes and
think tanks, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, and the public
sector.  The workshops are taught in beautiful Claremont, California.  
As always, this year's series offers several new workshops as well as
long-standing favorites.

AEA/CDC Summer Evaluation Institute

AEA is pleased to co-host the 2010 AEA/CDC Summer Evaluation
Institute to be held Monday, June 14, through Wednesday, June 16, in
Atlanta, Georgia. The Institute will be preceded on Sunday, June 13, by
a pair of pre-Institute workshops (Introduction to Evaluation and
Quantitative Methods for Evaluation) that may be registered for alone
or in concert with the Institute.

This event focuses on real-world strategies that you can apply today in
your work. Registration is affordable at $395 for AEA members and
CDC staff, $250 for full-time students, and $445 for all other registrants.
There is limited space at the event as well as session caps on the
individual sessions. Most sessions, and potentially all registration, will
close prior to the event. I urge you to register early!
